Koblenzer Sommerfest:
How to Get here & Back

Get here easily and get home safely

A Stress-Free Trip

Enjoy the Koblenzer Sommerfest with the "Rhein in Flammen" fireworks display–stress-free and without struggling to find a parking spot. It is highly recommended to travel to Koblenz with bus, train, cable car, Rhine and Moselle ferries or the koveb Park & Ride system.

Walking to the Festival Grounds

From the Koblenz Central Train Station, follow Markenbildchenweg Street until you reach the Rhine river. Turn left and continue straight toward the 'Deutsches Eck' until you reach the festival grounds.

From the 'Zentralplatz' Square, you have two options. 1) Go toward the Jesuitenplatz Square and turn onto Eltzerhofstraße Street and follow it down to the Moselle. Stay right and you will reach the carnival grounds, which are part of the festival. 2) Take Firmungstraße Street to Rheinstraße Street until you reach the festival grounds along the Rhine.

From the opposite shore of the Moselle, cross the Balduinbrücke bridge and turn left onto Burgstraße Street. After a few meters, you will reach a set of stairs. Take the stairs to the left down to the Peter-Altmeier-Ufer Shore and then go right.

Ferries, Cable Car and Fortress Lift

The Fähre Liesel* ferry operates from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. between the Knaus Campingpark Rhein/Mosel and the Moselle Docks at the Peter-Altmeier-Ufer Shore, right at the 'Deutsches Eck'.

The Fähre Koblenz Ehrenbreitstein - Schängel Shuttle ferry offers rides between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The ferry operates until Midnight on Saturday. The crossings generally take place every 10 minutes. The pick-up and drop-off points are Ehrenbreitstein am Ufer and the Konrad-Adenauer-Ufer Shore, next to the water level measurement station.

*Changes due to low water levels are possible.

The Koblenz Cable Car is providing special operating hours on the weekend of the 'Sommerfest'. The cable car will run until Midnight on Friday, until 1 a.m. on Saturday** and until 7 p.m. on Sunday. Additional information can be found at www.seilbahn-koblenz.de

**Please note that the cable car and the Fortress Lift will not be in operation from 10:30 p.m. to Midnight, due to the fireworks display!
